This exhibit celebrates the delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympics & Paralympics which opened on 23rd July 2021.
After a delay caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics & Paralympics finally started in July 2021. Over 17 days, 11,326 athletes from 205 nations, compete in 339 events.
As Japan declared a state of emergency due to Covid19, the number of spectators physically present at the world’s biggest sporting event was slashed.
Nonetheless, the Tokyo Olympics goes ahead, with round the clock broadcasting to virtual audiences around the world.
