The universe is a cosmos, which usually denotes the entire space-time continent in which we coexist, together with all forms of energy and matter in it – planets, stars, galaxies and intergalactic space. Space can be used as a synonym for cosmos, world or even nature.
The study of space is the subject of philosophy, as is the science of cosmology, which originated in physics and astronomy, which deals with the origin, structure, and evolution of the universe. At every stage of human development, only a limited portion of the universe is known. The mastery of the technologies and methods for its study makes the observable volume bigger and bigger. Metagalaxy is called that part, which is available for observation in the presence or in the immediate future.
