«Serpentines of the Virgin» based on the annual miracle in Kefalonia (Greece). There, they say, once a year, on the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God, snakes crawl from all over the island to the place where the monastery of the same name once stood, to churching. The monastery has long been destroyed, but the snakes remember the place.
For some reason, this miracle is an order of magnitude less popular than the descent of the Holy Fire on Holy Saturday in Jerusalem. It’s a pity. A good reminder of the possibility of solving problems in our modern cultural situation.
