Haskell Brooks Curry (1900 – 1982) was an American mathematician and logician. Curry is best known for his work in combinatory logic.
Haskell was also an avid birdwatcher who saw over 600 species of birds in his journeys around the world. 270 of them were in Australia, which he considered to be the most interesting bird-watching country. In 1928, he was kicked off of a European property by King Olaf of Norway for sneaking in to get a good view of the birds.
According to Dr. Haskell Curry, all you need for bird watching is a good set of legs, a pair of binoculars, and a notebook. “That’s why I like bird watching,” said Dr. Curry. “It gives me a chance to get outdoors to use my eyes and to deal with concrete facts instead with theories.”
Haskell is the computer-programming language used in the Cardano ecosystem. Designed for teaching, research and industrial application, Haskell has pioneered a number of advanced programming-language features such as type classes.
